About This Service

I will perform developmental editing / in-depth beta reading on your romance, young adult, fantasy, or LGBTQIA+ novel.

I will help you make sure that your plot is solid, your characters are memorable, and your narration isn’t distracting. Developmental editing is to help ensure that your story is solid, your writing flows, the manuscript is long enough to tell your story and no longer, and your characters become reader’s favorites. I am a published author with years of experience in professional editing, and would love the chance to help you make your work the best it can be!

Things I’ll be looking for:

  • Pacing

  • Characters (believability, relatability, depth)

  • Tone

  • Plot (strength, creativity, depth)

  • Consistency

  • Point of View

  • Pacing

  • Plausibility

  • Readability

  • Noticeably Consistent Errors

Proofreading is not included. I focus on big picture edits, and making your story stronger. If I see consistent punctuation or grammar mistakes, however, I will note them.
